Provider of asset management, maintenance, turnaround and small project services to the refining, oil and gas, mining, minerals processing, petrochemical and food industries. TIMEC was established in 1971 in California. In the late 1980s and 1990s, offices were opened in CA, TX, UT, MT and WA. In 1985, TIMEC formed a partnership with James International, Inc. to supplement its catalyst handling division. In 1986, James International, Inc. was purchased and merged with TIMEC’s own catalyst division, creating James-TIMEC International, Inc., which is located in La Porte, TX and has offices in Vallejo and Carson, CA. In 1998, Welltech National Training Systems, Inc. was incorporated in California to provide OSHA*-mandated safety training, career/course development and equipment operator training to clients. The company’s specialization was expanded further to provide a full range of safety and training services inclusive of holewatch, firewatch, safety technicians, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), all forms of safety, regulatory and skills training, and third-party compliance auditors. Established in 1991, World-Wide Welding, Inc. provides world-class welders, fitters, riggers and other professionals for the repair and replacement of heaters, boilers, piping and related systems. In May 2008, TIMEC acquired HRI, Inc., an expert provider to heavy industry of critical maintenance services in ultra high-temperature and confined space environments. HRI owns the patent on special super heat resistant suits that facilitate safe industrial repair and inspection work in workplaces that can reach up to 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit (700 degrees Celsius). In early 2007, TIMEC was acquired by Transfield Services Ltd., which is publicly traded in the Australian stock exchange. Transfield Services has over 29,000 employees working across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, South East Asia, New Caledonia and India.
