The University of Arizona Health Sciences is Arizona's only academic health center within higher education, providing health-care education, research, patient care and service to Arizonans and neighboring communities. Based on the Tucson campus, it maintains a growing presence on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus in downtown Phoenix. The organization encompasses five colleges that train nurses, doctors, pharmacists and public health practitioners. Its work spans the state and beyond, reflecting a broader mission to prepare the health workforce and advance clinical care. A notable recent development is the December 2025 launch of an AI-powered wearable to detect early signs of frailty in elderly care.
