The UNITE Foundation is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization established in 2008 by Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. It operates within the international development field with a focus on youth health and development in West Africa, notably through Camp UNITE in Togo. The foundation provides an annual Life Skills grant to support Camp UNITE, contributing to the program’s sustainability and continuity for participating youths. Each summer, Camp UNITE serves roughly two hundred young people from across Togo, combining classroom-based sessions on topics like communication and reproductive health with experiential activities that build self-confidence, leadership, and teamwork. The organization targets youth development needs that are not fully addressed in the formal curriculum, aiming to equip participants with practical life skills relevant to growing up in a developing country.
