The Society of Experimental Test Pilots is an international organization focused on advancing air safety and aeronautical development through the exchange of ideas, professional development for experimental pilots, and support for members and families of deceased members. Its activities aim to promote sound aeronautical design and development while offering scholarships and aid to those connected to the society. Based in Lancaster, California, the group operates within the aviation and aerospace sector, serving individuals involved in experimental flight and related advanced aeronautics. The organization is small to mid-sized, reflecting its mission-driven focus rather than commercial manufacturing activity. In recent news, the society announced Col. Grant Mizell as a moderator for the First Flight Consideration Panel, signaling ongoing engagement with leadership and event activities.
