The Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) is a higher education organization established in 1977 to advance occupational and environmental safety and health programs in the western United States. It operates as a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)-sponsored Education and Research Center and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2021, RMCOEH became a formal partnership between the University of Utah and Weber State University following legislation enacted by the Utah Legislature. RMCOEH provides graduate and doctoral programs in occupational safety and health, along with continuing education, hazardous-substance training, OSHA courses, and outreach activities. It conducts research to improve worker safety and health and shares findings through presentations at regional, national, and international meetings. Over its history, RMCOEH has produced more than 750 graduates, taught over 150,000 continuing education participants, and served more than 3,000 businesses, organizations, and governmental agencies.
