The Outreach Program is a nonprofit humanitarian organization that operates as a 501(c)(3) with a mission to meet essential needs for children and families in the United States and around the world. Its work centers on four areas—feeding the hungry, providing clean water, delivering medical care, and supporting education through centers, uniforms, supplies, and vocational training. Meals are nutrient-rich and packed by volunteers, with three formulas developed by Iowa State University for U.S. families and distributed through food banks, community partners, and international programs. The organization coordinates high-impact volunteer meal-packaging events with a broad network of partners to support those facing hunger. It is based in Union, Iowa, and was founded in 2004 after a pivotal trip to Nkungi, Tanzania. The Outreach Program works with businesses, civic groups, faith-based organizations, schools, government agencies, and other nonprofits to advance its programs; in October 2024, IdeaTek Telcom LLC and Buhler Mennonite Church partnered with the organization to package meals at the Sand Hills Event Center in Hutchinson, Kansas.
