The Orchestra Now (TŌN) is a pre-professional orchestra and master’s degree program based at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Founded in 2015, it aims to broaden access to orchestral music by exploring underperformed repertoire, reimagining concert formats, and integrating performer experience with the audience’s listening. The ensemble draws musicians from across the United States and a broad international pool, and it maintains a concert schedule that includes performances at Bard’s Fisher Center as well as engagements at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and various New York City venues, alongside collaborative projects such as Sight & Sound at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In addition to its concert activities, TŌN participates in ongoing artistic initiatives that pair orchestral works with other cultural expressions, reflecting its focus on connecting modern audiences with both classical and contemporary repertoire.
