The Light House is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 by Kathy Greene as a private special education school in New London, Connecticut. It was established with input from parents, therapists, and educators to create a community-based program where students of all differences could learn through real-life experiences. The program now comprises specialized offerings that blend community access, learning, and independent living to prepare individuals for the next steps in life, with three campuses serving more than 100 people annually.
