The Kelsey is a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California, pursuing housing solutions that directly address accessibility for people with disabilities. It develops affordable, inclusive residential communities designed to scale and to support organizing and advocacy aimed at shifting market conditions so inclusive housing becomes standard practice. The effort began with a focused advocate for access and community and has evolved into a broader movement led by people with and without disabilities. Its work serves people with disabilities and others seeking better housing options, tackling obstacles related to affordability and accessibility while encouraging community-led change. Operating in the civic and social sector, The Kelsey seeks to influence housing practices and policy through collaborative, inclusive approaches. In 2025, the organization was named a finalist for Affordable Housing Finance's Readers' Choice Awards in the Urban category, with recognition for The Kelsey Civic Center.
