The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple is a nonprofit organization based in London, England. It is one of the four Inns of Court with the exclusive authority to call students to the Bar, placing training for advocates at its core. Beyond education, it functions as a professional society with a heritage estate housing barristers, manages a property portfolio, operates a modern law library and an historic archive, oversees Temple Church in partnership with Inner Temple, and runs a commercial events business, while providing around £1 million annually to support students and junior members. Its membership comprises students, barristers, and senior members of the Bar and Judiciary, governed by Masters of the Bench, with the Treasurer elected as Chairman. The Inn employs permanent staff to manage day-to-day operations, supplemented by part-time staff for events, and has pursued recent initiatives such as the 2023 launch of the Middle Temple LGBTQ+ Commitments.
