The Harvard State Bank is a small community bank based in Harvard, Illinois, with origins dating to 1866 when it was founded as The Harvard Bank to support local economic growth. It adopted the current name and was incorporated as The Harvard State Bank in 1919. The institution has a long leadership history, with eight presidents to date, and its early years included initiating its first banking relationship shortly after opening. In 1923, the bank relocated to a new building at the corner of Brainard and Ayer Streets. The bank offers deposit products such as checking, savings, and money market accounts, ATM access across multiple locations, and a loan department that includes mortgages, home equity lines of credit, consumer and agricultural loans, and their own credit cards with rewards. In June 2026, Harvard State Bank donated to the Ogle County Historical Society to support a time capsule project commemorating the United States' 250th anniversary.
