The Frida Cinema is Orange County, California's sole nonprofit art house theater, located at 305 East 4th Street, Santa Ana, and operates in the Movies, Videos and Sound industry. It describes its mission as enriching, connecting, and educating communities through cinema, with a curatorial program spanning international, independent, documentary, LGBT, short, locally produced, student, educational, and classic films across genres. The organization has 11-50 employees and has been recognized by OC Weekly as Downtown Santa Ana's Cultural Anchor and OC's Year-Round Film Festival; it has engaged in partnerships with Kino Lorber in 2022 for a queer cinema retrospective, with Science on Screen, and with drive-in and outdoor screening initiatives.
