The Equity Lab is a nonprofit based in Washington, DC, that collaborates with education institutions, nonprofits, coalitions, foundations, and other mission-driven organizations to design leadership programs, workshops, and strategy sessions aimed at building just, inclusive systems. Its work centers on experiential learning, deep reflection, and collective action to advance equity, belonging, and liberation, rather than titles or formal hierarchies. Through offerings such as the Nexus Fellowship, Seeding Disruption, and tailored consulting and facilitation, it supports leaders and teams in reimagining systems and embedding liberatory practices; in 2021 it launched Seeding Disruption Remix, a youth organizing fellowship. The organization provides cohort-based leadership development that builds community, self-awareness, and capacity for racial equity leadership. It also offers custom facilitation and organizational strategy support to help teams align values with practice and navigate complexity together, along with equity-centered coaching and thought partnership that fosters reflection and systemic change. Overall, its work is relational and reflective, oriented toward lasting, community-driven change across education, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors.
