The Challenge was a London-based social enterprise operating in the civic and social sector. It worked locally to connect people of diverse ages and backgrounds to strengthen communities and build trust. Between 2009 and 2019, about 242,000 young people participated in its programmes; the organization subsequently entered administration in November 2019 and closed. After its closure, the organization’s programmes continued under the National Citizen Service, delivered by multiple providers nationwide, and HeadStart transitioned to Family Action. In April 2020, the organization filed a High Court claim against NCS Trust.
