It centers on using lived experience to inform its work on commercial sexual exploitation, with research aimed at reducing demand, supporting the conviction of traffickers, and lowering barriers for marginalized populations through evidence-based services. Founded in 2014 to address gaps in direct services for adults experiencing commercial sex trafficking in Northern Colorado and across the United States, the center brings together survivors, researchers, full-time staff, and volunteers. It was previously known as Free Our Girls.
