TEXAR Federal Credit Union is a community-focused financial institution serving the Texarkana area since 1951. As a not-for-profit cooperative, it aims to meet members' financial needs rather than maximize profits, operating from a main branch and three additional offices. Membership is available to residents of Cass, Bowie, and Miller Counties, and to most people in Red River and Lamar Counties. The organization began as Bowie County Teachers Credit Union and, after several name changes, adopted TEXAR Federal Credit Union in 2001. A notable recent development is a February 2024 educational partnership with Texas A&M University–Texarkana.
