TEAMS for Medical Missions is an Evangelical missions agency comprising missionaries and office staff based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, together with full-time career missionaries based in Jamaica, West Indies. Its vision is to strengthen Jamaican churches with the commitment, ability, and resources needed to develop faithful followers of Jesus Christ locally and beyond. Hundreds of volunteers support the work through prayer, giving, and their time, while J-Teams are deployed four times a year to carry out short-term ministry. These teams are primarily medical in focus, but they also include teachers for evangelism and disciple making, and builders who provide small houses for needy individuals or families. The organization is based in Allentown and operates within the religious institutions sector, mobilizing volunteers and resources to serve communities in Jamaica. A notable development in 2017 was the hiring of Jamaican pastor Paul Hemmings as Director of BTCJ, a role described as maintaining and growing the school.
