Tafesilafa’i Pacific Islander Festival operates as a civil rights, social justice, faith- and community-based organization focused on Samoan and Pacific Islander communities. It functions as an organic clearinghouse for matters related to Samoan language and culture, pursuing political, educational, social, and economic equality for Samoans and Pacific Islanders. The organization also serves as a think tank where issues affecting these communities are explored, debated, and where practical solutions are identified and enacted. Based in Long Beach, California, it was established to provide a safe space for youth to celebrate culture, language, dance, and customs, and it maintains ongoing programs beyond its annual cultural festival. In addition to the festival, its activities include initiatives such as Leaders Conversations, translation and transitional living services, and one-on-one visits, with the organization accredited as a nonprofit and operating within the broader Pacific Islander community.
