StreetWise, Inc. is a Chicago-based nonprofit focused on empowering homeless and low-income residents by providing a voice and new opportunities. It publishes StreetWise Magazine, an award-winning publication that covers homelessness, poverty, injustice and inequality while also reporting on Chicago life and culture, and it operates a distribution model that enables self-employed vendors to build community connections.

StreetWise runs S.T.E.P., an employment preparation and placement program that helps individuals prepare for work, obtain employment, and sustain it. In addition to publishing, the organization distributes emergency and seasonal clothing, hygiene kits, PPE, prepackaged meals and pantry items, and assists clients with access to housing, healthcare, legal aid, and other community resources. In 2020 StreetWise merged with YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, representing a notable organizational development.
