Spring Farm CARES operates as an animal and nature sanctuary in Clinton, New York, Upstate, housing an average of about 275 animals across species such as horses, goats, sheep, cats, dogs, rabbits, poultry, and a few exotics. The sanctuary provides a permanent home for animals that cannot be placed elsewhere, prioritizing those that are elderly or have special needs, with large animals generally not offered for adoption while some cats and kittens may be placed with suitable families. Set on 260 acres of protected land, the Nature Sanctuary aims to conserve and restore habitat and promote regional biodiversity through ethical, humane, and organic methods. It focuses on understanding life on its property to better grasp how species interact with each other and their environment. Educational programming includes seminars on animal communication and connections to the natural world, and its conservation director offers tours and presentations. Spring Farm CARES also runs a spay/neuter voucher program for Oneida County residents and operates a feral cat TNR program.
