SPIRIT SERIES, Inc. is a small educational organization based in Santa Monica, California. It launched in 2001 with the SERIES program, a drama-based curriculum that provides academic intervention alongside character education for students in grades 4 through 7. The program features six historical one-act biographies and has been studied, staged, and performed by more than 50,000 students since its inception. In addition to SERIES, the company offers SPIRITCORPS, a video storytelling curriculum for grades 7 through 10 that reinforces virtues illustrated by historical figures and guides students through a five-step self-discovery and writing process, with feedback from a classroom teacher, a peer Story Partner, and a trained adult Story Coach Volunteer. SPIRITWORKS provides educators with a 30-hour, project-based professional development track built around the SpiritWorks Leadership Model, delivered in two phases: a two-day Summer Institute and a Practicum during the school year. In 2022, SPIRIT SERIES partnered with the Maine Department of Education to introduce its programs to about 12,500 students across Maine.
