Sparebanken Sør is an independent savings bank in the banking industry, headquartered at 7 Rådhusgaten, Kristiansand, Agder, Norway. It aims to be the largest and leading financial institution in Agder counties and parts of Telemark, serving private individuals and businesses. The bank is the fifth-largest Norwegian-owned bank. Sparebanken Sør merged with Sparebanken Pluss on 1 January 2014; both banks have long historical roots on Sørlandet, with Sparebanken Pluss tracing back to Christianssands Sparebank (established in 1824) and Sparebanken Sør originating from Arendal Sparebank (established in 1825). The bank operates about 40 ekspedisjonskontorer across Aust-Agder, Vest-Agder and Telemark and employs around 489 people. As of the end of 2013, it had assets under management of about 90 billion NOK.
