Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission (SMPDC) is a regional government relations entity based in Saco, Maine, and functioning as a council of governments established under state statute. Founded in 1964, the organization coordinates economic development, environmental stewardship, land use and transportation planning, and provides technical assistance to municipalities across York, southern Oxford and Cumberland counties, plus York County itself. Its work encompasses community development, housing, and brownfields redevelopment, supporting a broad network of thirty-nine member communities in the region.
