Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, the organization is a small-to-mid-sized entity serving a national community of theatre practitioners. It focuses on year-round opportunities and resources for its constituents and participates in industry events such as annual conventions. A January 2026 update notes SETC's involvement in its 77th Annual Convention in Chattanooga, Tennessee, demonstrating ongoing engagement with the theatre community.
