Southeast Health is a nonprofit academic health system serving about 460,000 residents across southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. Headquartered in Dothan, Alabama, the system is anchored by Southeast Health Medical Center, a 420-bed hospital that aligns with the region’s largest medical group and includes the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, the state’s first osteopathic medical school. The organization comprises the Southeast Health Foundation and the population health arm known as the Southeast Health Statera Network, reflecting its dual roles in philanthropy and community health. As a not-for-profit entity focused on healing, education, and community wellness, it serves as a regional provider of both patient care and medical education. In 2024, Southeast Health completed a merger with Mercy Health, representing a notable expansion of its affiliation and services.
