South Dakota Farmers Union is a United States farming organization that advocates for farmers, ranchers, and their families across national, state, and local levels. It seeks to influence agricultural policy on a broad range of issues, including food production, worker safety, competition in agricultural markets, commodity pricing, estate tax laws, environmental sustainability, and energy and transportation policy. The group operates independently and also collaborates with other like-minded organizations and businesses. Its programs support family farmers and ranchers through cooperatives, educational and leadership development for rural youth and adults, and insurance and benefit offerings, including accidental death coverage. These services are delivered at a cost per member of less than 10 cents per day. In 2025, the organization engaged in national-level activities and formed a partnership with Team Buche Cares to help address food challenges in rural and tribal communities.
