SOSystems is an environmental services company based in Jackson, Wyoming. The small team originally aimed to develop an advanced-treatment septic system capable of outperforming competitors, but local permitting moved at a glacial pace. In response, the company partnered with NavLabs to create a software platform that would manage the design and permitting workflow for upgrading septic systems, starting with LooLoop.

The resulting product, Sep.OS, focuses on automated regulatory compliance for decentralized wastewater infrastructure, enabling engineers and county regulators to review septic designs quickly and objectively by checking each design against relevant regulations. The platform provides a comprehensive summary of which requirements are met and which are not, reducing staff hours needed to process permits and allowing users to focus on higher-level work. Sep.OS is described as seven times faster and 90% more accurate than manual permit reviews.
