Sexual Violence Center is a small nonprofit operating in the civic and social sector, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It provides free services to youth and adult victims and survivors aged 12 and older, focusing on residents of Carver, Hennepin, and Scott counties. Its offerings include a 24-hour crisis line staffed by trained advocates, in-person counseling, survivor and family support groups, crisis support in hospitals for forensic exams, legal advocacy to obtain restraining orders and navigate the criminal justice system, and community education to address sexual violence. The organization emphasizes nondiscrimination across race, religion, national origin, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, and other factors, and aims to eradicate sexual violence by challenging privilege, educating advocates, and supporting survivors to thrive. As part of recent activity, it was noted in March 2026 that the center participated in a partnership involving the University of Toronto Students’ Union to support the Respect, Educate, Empower Survivors project at the University of Toronto.
