Senior Support Program of the Tri-Valley (SSPTV) is a nonprofit organization that serves seniors aged 60 and older in the Tri-Valley communities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and Sunol. The agency began in 1981 with a Friendly Visitor program that served 35 seniors and has since expanded to programs that annually serve about 1,600 seniors, along with around 5,000 information and referral contacts and visits. A core network of volunteers, estimated at about 100 individuals, provides more than 4,000 in-person visits and 5,000 phone visits each year. Its mission is to provide services that foster independence, promote safety and well-being, preserve dignity, and improve quality of life for seniors. Since 2006, SSPTV has operated as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Based in Pleasanton, California, the organization functions within the individual and family services sector.
