Self Reliance NY Federal Credit Union is a community-based financial cooperative founded in 1951 by volunteers and supported by the New York Branch of the Selfreliance Association of American Ukrainians. It is the oldest and largest Ukrainian credit union in the world, serving more than 15,000 members and with assets exceeding one billion dollars. Headquartered in New York City’s East Village, the credit union operates four additional branches in Astoria, Uniondale, Lindenhurst, and Kerhonkson. Its product lineup includes residential and investment mortgages, personal and auto loans, credit cards, and deposit vehicles such as money market accounts, share certificates, and IRAs, with deposits insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.
