SaudiBio is a mid-sized biopharmaceutical company founded in 2010, best known as the first and only insulin manufacturer in Saudi Arabia. Its manufacturing site sits in Sudair Industrial & Business City in the Riyadh region, covering about 10,000 square meters and incorporating a modular aseptic fill‑and‑finish system developed with KeyPlants. The facility’s filling machinery and advanced technologies were supplied by Groninger, while BOSCH international handles packaging and labeling, and in 2018 the company signed a technology transfer and supply agreement with Novo Nordisk to localize insulin production. SaudiBio also operates the Qualified Saudis Program, established in 2017 to Saudize vacancies and build local expertise. Its broader objective is to localize sterile products and advance Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional leader in biotechnology within the Middle East, including plans to establish the first biotech city.
