SARA is the sexual assault crisis center for the Roanoke Valley in Virginia. SARA exists to support survivors of sexual violence. We also provide support to the families, friends, and loved ones of those who have been directly impacted by sexual violence. SARA provides counseling, advocacy, a 24-hour crisis hotline to our community, and educational programming to our area. We provide allied professional training and community outreach, awareness and prevention education. SARA embraces an empowerment model where individuals are treated with dignity and respect and are actively involved in deciding the course of the services they receive. All services of SARA are free of charge, confidential, and voluntary.
