SFHDC is a community-based nonprofit in San Francisco that develops affordable housing and facilitates home ownership. Founded in 1988 by civic and community leaders from the Western Addition and Bayview Hunters Point, it emerged in response to gentrification and rising housing costs that displaced people of color. Its work also includes resident engagement, social services, and economic revitalization of key commercial corridors in Bayview Hunters Point and other neighborhoods.

Based in San Francisco, California, SFHDC operates within the real estate sector, serving residents seeking stability through affordable housing and related services. The organization emphasizes neighborhood renewal and community partnerships. In May 2025, SFHDC partnered with San Francisco State University to offer a free health screening to Hayes Valley residents, illustrating ongoing community outreach.
