San Francisco Community Music Center (CMC) is a mid-sized nonprofit based in San Francisco, founded in 1921, and is one of the oldest and largest community arts organizations on the West Coast. It works to make high-quality music accessible to people regardless of financial means. Last year, CMC awarded nearly $2.4 million in tuition assistance and served more than 3,100 students with music lessons, classes and related programs. The center hosts performances for thousands of people at its facilities and in the wider community. In 2023, it launched CMC Sparks, a program offering introductory piano, guitar and violin classes for youth ages 5 to 12.
