SAMREF Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Company Ltd. operates a refinery complex in Yanbu, located in the Medina region of Saudi Arabia. It is an equally owned joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Mobil Yanbu Refining Company Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation. The facility processes more than 400,000 barrels per day of Arabian Light crude and produces a range of products, including propane, multiple grades of automotive diesel oil, two grades of marine heavy fuel oil, and sulfur. Established to develop, own, and operate crude oil refining facilities in Yanbu, the complex began operations on November 15, 1984.

Historically, the project was designed to export finished products to Europe, North America, and the Far East as part of Saudi Arabia’s broader integrated petroleum strategy. In 2026, SAMREF announced a strategic partnership with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and participated in the Yanbu-RC 'Namaa' initiative as part of its CSR-related collaboration.
