SAIPA is a motor vehicle manufacturer based in Tehran, Iran, employing between 1,001 and 5,000 people. It was established in 1966 as the Citroën Automobile Production Joint Stock Company of Iran, was renamed SAIPA in 1972, and later became a public joint-stock company with shares listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange in 1995. In 1999, SAIPA expanded by acquiring Pars Khodro, Zamyad, and SAIPA Diesel to form the SAIPA Automobile Group, which now comprises more than 80 companies and manages over 40,000 personnel direct and indirectly. The group operates seven car-manufacturing sites, with four plants producing passenger cars under the brands SAIPA, Pars Khodro, SAIPA-Citroën, and Bon Ro, and three plants producing light and heavy commercial vehicles under SAIPA Diesel, Zamyad, and Iran Kaveh; twelve group companies supply more than half of the parts, and the company network includes more than a thousand suppliers. The SAIPA Automobile Industries Research and Innovation Center, established in 1997, focuses on automobile research, design and product development, and in 2023 SAIPA announced an electric version of the Atlas hatchback.
