RustRidge Winery hearkens back to the good old days in Napa, when the owners of a small family-run winery would personally greet visitors to their tasting room with a smile and a handshake. For more than 20 years, Jim Fresquez (vineyard manager) and Susan Meyer (winemaker), a husband and wife team, have crafted gold-medal winning artisanal Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, and other varietal wines from RustRidge’s sustainably dry-farmed vineyards. The Ranch, located in the Chiles Valley District of the Napa Valley, contains the RustRidge Winery, thoroughbred horse ranch, and western style Bed and Breakfast. Susan and Jim also make their home on RustRidge Ranch, along with their 22 horses, 13 cats, and 3 dogs. Kent Rosenblum, partner and consulting winemaker for RustRidge Winery, collaborates with Susan to produce well-balanced, food-friendly, fruit-forward wines. When she isn’t in working in the winery, Susan runs the Bed and Breakfast. Jim takes care of the grapevines and trains their thoroughbred racehorses—sometimes he even rides the horses in the vineyards.
