Roost is a startup technology company in the computers and electronics manufacturing sector, headquartered at 1250 Borregas Avenue, Sunnyvale, California 94089, United States, with 11-50 employees. The company provides a do-it-yourself upgrade for existing smoke alarms by integrating a Roost Smart Battery with a home Wi-Fi network, enabling emergency alerts to be delivered to smartphones. This approach eliminates the need to purchase new smoke or CO alarms, and avoids extra control panels or hubs, focusing on installation simplicity. Roost has developed a patent-pending connected platform and, in 2021, launched a Smoke Alarm Notification Service. The company has a history of partnerships and fundraising, including a January 2016 partnership with ADT and a 2017 Series B funding round.
