The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program is a nonprofit organization based in Fort Collins, Colorado, focused on protecting and appreciating raptors and their habitats through rehabilitation, education, and research. For about 30 years, it has served northern Colorado through rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured birds of prey. A community-based team of veterinary professionals and trained volunteers provides comprehensive raptor care, from medical treatment to constructing temporary housing for recovering birds. The program also engages in education and outreach to offer hands-on learning about raptor species and the environment. It admits about 300 raptors each year and relies on a broad base of volunteers and staff to deliver rehabilitative care. More than 80% of treatable birds are released back into the wild, reflecting its emphasis on humane treatment and successful rehabilitation.
