The Rochester Public Library is a mid-sized public library system based in Rochester, New York, comprising the Central Library in downtown Rochester and ten neighborhood branches. It serves residents across the Finger Lakes and Western New York region, offering access to information, programs, and resources that support lifelong learning and community development. The library centers its work on values such as community, learning and knowledge, imagination and innovation, diversity and inclusiveness, and engagement and collaboration. The system employs a workforce of several hundred staff. It partners with local organizations to expand services, including free federal and state tax filing assistance through AARP Tax-Aide and caregiver support programming with Cornerstone VNA. In December 2024, the library announced the appointment of Emily Clasper as director, with the role effective January 2025.
