The Sutherland Bipolar Center (SBC) is a specialty clinic dedicated to the treatment of Bipolar Disorders. The SBC is housed at the University of Colorado Boulder with a two-fold mission: to provide formal diagnosis, expert treatment, and comprehensive education to people with a bipolar disorder and their families, and to not let financial means prevent access to treatment. Treatment is provided by doctoral candidates in CU's Psychology and Neuroscience programs and closely supervised by the SBC's director Dr. Alisha Brosse. Modalities include evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Focused Treatment, Social Rhythm Therapy, and Psychoeducation. 

Also central to our mission is educating the community and training health professionals. The SBC holds the biannual Sutherland Seminar Series, which is open to the public and covers topics such as diagnosis, relationships, wellness, and relapse prevention. Center staff are also available for workshops, presentations, and speaking engagements sponsored by community organizations. 

Since our doors opened in January 2002, we have served over 1500 individuals impacted by bipolar disorder, and offered unparalleled, individualized treatment programs not available anywhere in the country. A non-profit organization, our services are made possible by funding from the Robert D. Sutherland Foundation and in-kind contributions.
