Riksteatret - The Norwegian National Touring Theatre has over 60 years of experience as a travelling theatre company. In the course of one year, Riksteatret puts on about 500 performances in about 70 different locations all over Norway. The approximately 10 to 15 productions each year, are either our own productions, collaborations with other theatres, or productions purchased from other theatres and independent professional companies. We have a broad scope of our activity. We perform to a wide audience, offering drama, musicals, comedies, modern dance, puppet theatre, and productions for children and young people. Riksteatret is located in Nydalen in Oslo, formerly an industrial area, now transformed into a modern and dynamic new district. The theatre has two stages for rehearsals, areas for workshops, and office space for the different departments within the theatre. Larger workshops for carpenters, black-smiths and painters are situated in a building near by. All productions are presented on Riksteatret´s stages in Nydalen before going on tour.
