Return Logistics International Corporation, founded in 1996 and based in Savannah, Georgia, operates in transportation, logistics, supply chain and storage with a specialty in pharmaceutical waste management. It was formed to address diversion through waste by creating a facility that integrates the management and destruction of returns and the waste generated by returns, beginning with a Manufacturer Returns Processing Program. In the same year it earned a DEA Wholesale Drug Registration to accept, process and destroy controlled drug Schedules CI-CV and List 1 and List 2 chemicals, becoming one of the early reverse distributors approved for controlled drug returns. Following expansion of its Return Center, the company received a solid waste processing permit from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in 2006, enabling its expanded services for receipt, documentation and disposal of obsolete pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter products and related DEA controlled substances and raw materials. Today, in addition to manufacturer returns processing, RLI manages obsolete product destruction for manufacturers, wholesalers, retail and institutional pharmacies, medical practitioners and dispensers, as well as animal hospitals, animal clinics and veterinarians.
