Based in Augusta, Maine, the Retail Association of Maine is a nonprofit organization serving the state's retail businesses. It acts as an advocate before policymakers on issues that affect retailers' costs and operations, including wage and hour rules, swipe fees, gift cards, workers’ compensation costs, employee benefits, health care costs, and taxes. The services offered are developed in response to member needs and requests and aim to help retailers improve their bottom line through cost-saving options and guidance. Its activities rely on collaboration among members to secure services that individual retailers could not obtain alone, and it supports lobbying and education to inform policy decisions affecting the industry. In March 2024, RAM announced a partnership with the Maine Grocers & Food Producers Association and the New Hampshire Retail Association to launch a new member-benefit settlement program.
