Resource Center for Independent Living (RCIL) is a civil rights organization focused on independent living and advocacy for people with disabilities. It helps individuals of all ages and disability types access community supports and services needed to live independently, covering areas such as education, competitive employment, and living in one's own home. RCIL's staff function both as direct-service providers and as expert consultants on barrier-free architectural design, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and disability-related policy issues. Headquartered in Utica, New York, RCIL operates across 28 counties in Upstate New York and is the largest of New York's 37 independent living centers, as well as one of more than 400 nationally. The network supports a workforce described as more than 1,400 employees delivering services in the region. In recent developments, RCIL announced a partnership with Public Partnerships LLC to support consumers in the CDPAP program.
