RTRN represents an NIH investment that leverages existing health disparities research at 18 minority institutions (RCMIs) united in the purpose of improving the nation's health for the underserved. RTRN is supported by a grant provided by the National Center for Research Resources, a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). National Center for Research Resources’ (NCRR) Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) program enhances the research capacity and infrastructure at minority colleges and universities that offer doctorates in health sciences.
