The Reece School is a non-profit elementary school in New York City that specializes in education administration programs focused on students who require more robust academic, social, and emotional supports than typical public school settings provide. Founded in 1948 by Ellen S. Reece, the institution has a long-standing history as one of the city’s oldest non-profit institutions serving students with speech and language impairments or emotional, learning, and other disabilities. The school creates a structured, nurturing environment aimed at helping academically capable children who may be psychologically fragile or face barriers to learning access their education more fully. Located in New York, the school serves families seeking an alternative within the private or specialized education sector that emphasizes individualized support within a highly academic elementary program. As part of the education landscape, Reece School positions itself among specialized elementary programs designed to bridge gaps between traditional public schooling and intensive special education needs.
