Redmoon is a Chicago-based performing arts organization that presents free, large-scale theatrical events intended to foster community, creativity, and empowered civic participation. With more than two decades of activity, it has established itself as a recognizable presence in the city, known for collaborations, outdoor performances, and a range of community and educational programs. Its site-specific productions have lit up the Museum of Contemporary Art’s exterior, marked the opening of the Modern Wing at the Art Institute, and drawn tens of thousands of spectators to the banks of the Chicago River. The organization also brings its work to parks and streets in underserved neighborhoods, using spectacle to bridge divides and alter how public spaces are experienced. In its 57,000-square-foot facility in Pilsen, Redmoon stages large indoor spectacles, hosts private events, and offers structured internships and mentoring for emerging young artists.
