ReActive’s movement programs integrate therapeutic exercise protocols with safe and effective low-impact movements using Functional Pilates method, and the science of Biomechanics. The concept of functional movement allows people to perform activities of daily living with ease and without pain. Our bodies’ most mundane movements are complex and require the harmonious integration of movement forces, joint stability and muscular recruitment patterns. The body demands total integration—posture, joint stability and muscular support. All these elements are required for proper biomechanical functionality, which is a challenge for most people, and the resulting dysfunction contributes to a chronic cycle of pain. Functional Pilates is a valuable and effective tool to break this cycle and promote optimal movement patterns for life as the method teaches exercise as complete movements, not as pieces of movement.

ReActive’s Teacher Training programs will educate a new generation of highly-skilled Pilates practitioners to improve the quality of Pilates services available in the Bay Area, and to continue to grow Pilates in the field of health care services.
