Reach Global, a division of Thrive Networks, is based in Oakland, California, and operates within the international development sector. It designs and replicates education programs focused on health, livelihoods, and family finance for disadvantaged communities, with the aim of broadening access to these resources. The organization traces its origins to 2004, when it was conceived, and it began as an internal unit within Freedom from Hunger in 2005; Reach India, its flagship social enterprise, launched in 2007, and Reach Global spun off as a separate entity in 2009 to scale Reach India and other ventures, followed by a 2014 merger with East Meets West that broadened its scope. Its delivery model relies on a network of social entrepreneurs in rural India who train local community organizations to deliver behavior-change education to women and adolescent girls who meet regularly to save and discuss solutions to daily problems. Since inception, Reach Global has extended this education to more than 1.4 million women and girls across 14 of India's poorest states. Beyond its social ventures, Reach Global provides education and training services and has worked with development partners such as UNCDF, Women's World Banking, FINCA, CARE, and Women for Women International.
